Mother
Two children who keep me honest about what actually matters. Motherhood is where I first learned to plan, pivot, laugh, and lead — usually in the same afternoon.

Meet Latoya
I'm Latoya Jeeter — mother of two, daughter and caregiver, professional, scholar, creative strategist, and a woman of faith and service.
This page is the person behind the candidacy. The Leadership Record and The Work Speaks hold the details.

Who I Am
I am a mother of two, a daughter who shows up for her family, a professional, a scholar, a creative strategist, and a woman of faith and service. Most days I am several of those things before lunch.
My background spans human resources, organizational leadership, social work, communications, branding, learning and development, and strategic storytelling. Different fields, same question: how do people thrive, and how can organizations help them do it?
Today that question shapes my professional work in talent development, learning and development, workforce strategy, performance management, career pathways, and employee experience — and it shapes my doctoral studies in Organizational Leadership, with a focus on Human Resource Management.
It also shapes Studio Finer, my creative work, where strategy, branding, communications, and digital storytelling come together. And it shapes how I serve Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated — in communications leadership for the State of South Carolina, where my focus is preserving stories, celebrating members, and elevating the work chapters and auxiliaries do.

What Matters to Me
Beyond the Bio
Balancing motherhood, work, doctoral study, caregiving, service, and creative projects is not a superpower. It is a calendar, a sense of humor, and a lot of discipline.
Laughter has carried me through late-night deadlines, dissertation chapters, and more than a few conference logistics puzzles.
Usually some version of: Why do we do it this way? Who is this helping? What are we missing? Can this be better?
Between school pickups, caregiving, and everything else, my people are the reason the work means something.
My faith shapes how I treat people and why I serve — quietly, consistently, and with my whole heart.
Places make more sense when you experience them. People do too. New stories are my favorite souvenir.
I genuinely love helping people — and there is nothing like making good work visible to the person who did it.

The next chapter
